hi friends! I want to share more here on the blog about what goes on in our everyday life (like our marble bath remodel) and I hope it’s as enjoyable for you to read as it is cathartic for me to write! It will probably be all over the place when I pop in like this but that’s the beauty of life, isn’t it?!
First up – let’s chat our primary marble bath progress!
We went to pick out our marble slabs for our primary bath remodel this week! Have you ever watched how a stone like Carrara marble is cut from a mountain!? We googled a few youtube videos and were actually amazed at how crazy the whole process is! It’s remarkable how it goes from a mountain into your home – it’s all such an incredible process! We think we found a perfect slab for our bathroom and can’t wait to show you after it’s all installed!
Speaking of the bathroom – after a full week of prep (thanks to our amazing tile installer Adamson Custom tile) our herringbone marble floor was laid this week and it is GORGEOUS!!! We grabbed all of our Carrara marble from here. We have been saving and waiting to remodel our primary bathroom for nearly 7 years and I can’t believe we are actually here putting in the marble bathroom of my dreams! so grateful!!!
We are traveling soon, more on that below, so we went to renew this kids passports this week! PRO/PARENT TIP: did you know that if you are renewing or getting your child’s passport and they are under the age of 16 BOTH PARENTS must be present to apply for it!? Yeah, we had no clue so we had to reschedule our appts last week for a time this week where Will could be there. FUN, right?! But we ultimately got it done!
Lots of you were curious as to the why behind the passports. Liam is scheduled to go on a service mission to Kenya in June and we are crossing our fingers that Will, Liliana and I can get to go as well!! If it all works out we will be serving in a village and helping build a school. This will be Liam’s second mission trip and our first! Pray for us that ticket prices go down so we can get the rest of us booked on the trip. If not, Liam will still be going with his older sister Addison and his grandparents.
Service missions have been something that have been incredible experiences for our children to do! Taylor has gone to both Haiti and Italy, Addison to Haiti, Mathew to Brazil and Liam to Brazil as well! It’s been humbling and has for sure given our kids an opportunity to grow in so many ways! I wrote all about Taylor and Addison’s first service mission trip to Haiti here!
Last but not least, we are prepping for our trip to Maui!!! We leave on Easter and are so excited to get to spend some time with our two youngest and as a last minute surprise to us all Aden has decided to join us too! I pulled out all my kids summer clothes from last year and can I tell you how glad I am that I did?! NOTHING fits them, the pain and joy of growing kids! I did luck out though because I snagged some cute things we are loving from the JCrew sale for Liliana and myself! I will link them below for you to shop while the sale is going too and will share a little try on when they come in! Code SPRING gets you 50% off full price items + sale items!
