Who else loves a good before and after? Our Living Room has been the bane of my existence since moving into this home nearly 4 years ago. We renovated the space by stripping loads of wallpaper, painting, and adding some finish work soon after we moved in but after we were done with that we just put our old furniture back in and let it be. I could not for the life of me figure out how to lay this room out! But, thank goodness for Instagram friends with interior design knowledge (looking at you @estiekessler) and the best custom furniture company ever – Interior Define!! Ready to just dive in and see what we changed up? Because this one is such a transformation of not only space but overall feel too!
So much better!! Right!? Finding the best layout and pulling the room inwards (literally into the center of the room more) and adding the perfect custom sofas and chairs made all the difference in the world! I could cry tears because I now love this room so much. But even more tears for how amazing it was to work with Interior Define to find our sofas and chairs!!
Interior Define offers custom furniture to fit your own style and spaces and is based online! I admit I was a bit terrified about ordering furniture that I had never seen or sat on in person. But since they also have storefronts as well as in house designers who can help you choose the best pieces for you space as well as help with fabric options it made my fear disappear rapidly. I love a classic modern look, and wanted to make this space feel not only simple and clean, but timeless and comfortable as well. We knew we needed some extra long sofas in this room so we settled on the Maxwell sofa, and added extra inches to it to make it as long as possible. I kept teetering on which chairs we wanted and decided that maybe just getting some fabric swatches which are FREE from Interior Define first would help me!
You can choose 5 free fabric swatches, and if you need more they’re super affordable. I, of course, had to have all the options so I ordered some extras too because I had to make sure I didn’t miss anything. I finally narrowed it down to these five. I knew I wanted to keep this room natural and light feeling. So lighter sofas was always a definite yes and I was also thinking I’d go light on the chairs as well. However, knowing I’d lose the depth and feel of the space with so much white everywhere we decided it pull in a good dark color, and not only that but texture too! That’s when velvet entered in! My husband was super unsure of the velvet idea at first, but thankfully he’s learned to just trust me by now! Not only do you get to choose your fabric, length and size, but also you get to choose what legs you want as well! So when I say completely customizable, I mean it!
After much debate we finally decided on 2 matching Maxwell Sofas (90 inch) in the Linen Pebble Weave fabric with tapered turned legs in natural oak and then 2 matching Caitlin Petite Chairs in Narwhal Velvet with brass plated Sloan L legs. I seriously am SO IN LOVE and can not rave about them enough! We have a lot of traffic around here between family and pets and 6 months in and all of our furniture from Interior Define is holding up better than I could’ve ever expected! It all still looks brand new and I am so glad we went with them!
Our living room is finally at a place where it was meant to be. It just needed the right furniture pieces to pull it all together and Interior Define helped us get there!
Oh, and did I mention, how amazing their customer service is!? Once you order they not only keep you up to date with emails step by step while your furniture is being custom built but then when it comes time to deliver it, it’s brought into your home by men with careful white gloves and placed exactly where you want it all for FREE too! Yup, you know who we will be heading to for future furniture purchases as well!
